Stampeders and Mountains: An Alberta Weekend

This past weekend was a true Alberta weekend. Despite a rainy forecast, Friday evening was sunny and dry making for a beautiful evening to watch football. I attended my first Calgary Stampeders CFL (Canadian Football League) game. The game started off slow with more defense than offense. Just when we thought it was over and the Edmonton Eskimos were going to walk away with a pre-season victory, the Stamps pulled off a comeback win in the final seconds of the game. Very exciting! Here are a few photos from the game.

My Calgary Stampeders ticket and the mini football I “caught” at the game.
We had great seats on the home side. This is how close we were to the players (no zoom lens used here).
Action on the field.
The half-time show which was a Calgary Stampede band.

The next day we ventured out of the city once again to explore another area in the mountains. We headed west to the town of Canmore and into the Spray Lakes area. Spray Lakes is in Kananaskis Country and is in a mountain valley about 400 metre above Canmore. We also spent some time walking around Canmore. Here are some photos. Enjoy!
