About Me

Welcome to rural route ramblings!

Hi. I’m Teresa.

A born and raised Manitoban. A former Albertan and Saskie. And a proud Prairie girl.

I grew up on a grain and cattle farm in southern Manitoba. I headed west to Wild Rose Country and lived there for seven years, before deciding to uproot again and move next door to the Land of Living Skies. After living there for four years, I recently made the move back to the Keystone province. I’ve come full circle. I love the Prairies – the heart of Canadian agriculture.

Despite making the move from rural to urban many years ago, I will always be a Manitoba farm girl. You can’t take the country out of the girl.

On this blog you’ll find my ramblings on agriculture issues, farm life, food, fitness, fashion, outdoor activities, travel and other fun stuff.

All photos on this blog have been taken by me, unless otherwise noted. Please do not use the photos without my consent.

I welcome feedback on my posts. Please comment and I’ll respond as soon as possible.

Thanks for dropping by.

  1. I am interested in some of your canola harvesting images for a Agriculture publication. Can you please email me?

  2. I also am interested in using one of your images – the distinctly green seed image with the roller. It would not be made public, it would be an example of how to do it in a set of instructions, and would reference the link where it is shown, or credited to you however you wish, Could you email me?

  3. Teresa, I just want to wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2014! I hope you get go home on the farm for the holidays.

I love reading about your farm life even when you are away in the city and missing the land. You are thoughtful and a wonderful representative for your agriculture in Canada.

BTW, you have one of the cleanest ovens in spite of all you bake. (hahahahaha)

Keep posting! We do care and enjoy your photos and words even if we don’t comment often.

    1. Thank you so much for the nice comment, Sandra. I really appreciate the kind words. Thanks for continuing to read my blog. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season and all the best in the New Year!

  4. Hi, Teresa.
I was recently emailed with a picture of you and your mother with the caption including a moving story of a deaf girl that was moving to my area. They were looking to hire someone for help and I was chosen. While doing some deeper research, I found your blog. I’m not sure what I’m commenting for, but perhaps closure. I hope to hear soon.

  5. Hi Teresa,
For the past couple of years we at the Medicine Hat News have been gathering bloggers from southern Alberta and have set up something of a central gathering place on our website. We think your blog would fit nicely. If you’re interested, please email cbrown@medicinehatnews.com. He can give you more details.
    Have a great day.
