“I can live for two months on a good compliment.”
~ Mark Twain
Some of my social media friends participate in a weekly blogging event called Thankful Thursday. This week I’ve decided to post my own Thankful Thursday. I’m thankful for the people in my life – family, friends, colleagues etc. – who compliment and encourage me.
The famous writer Mark Twain had some simple yet powerful quotes that always ring true to me. I’ve often said that receiving a simple compliment or words of encouragement make my day. Everything else can be going wrong, but that one little thing can make up for it all.
Recently I made a new goal where I try to compliment or encourage at least one person every day whether it be in person, an email, commenting on a blog post, a Facebook message, a tweet, a text message or a phone call. There are so many ways to do this and it only takes a few seconds or minutes of your day. Or if you’re creative (and have the time), you can rather make someone a special card and even throw in some homemade baking (if you’re a baker). I love baking for others so I often share baking with people as a thank you for something they did for me or just because. Please consider making someone’s day with a compliment or words of encouragement.
Do you make this a priority? What are some ways you do this?
