No, this isn’t a blog post about Coca-Cola’s early 1990s slogan, Can’t Beat the Real Thing. It’s about a compliment I recently received. I was told that I’m the real thing – in reference to being a farm girl. I’m a REAL farm girl. As opposed to those fake, wanna-be farm girls.
Later, as I was thinking about the comment, I decided it is the one of the best compliments I could ever receive. Years ago I might not have felt the same way. But I’ve learned to appreciate the plain farm girl that I am.
So I encourage you to embrace who are you. Don’t try to be someone you’re not. I will never be a city girl and that’s OK. I’m happy being a REAL farm girl!

What is not to love about a farm girl?
It is an awesome life; full of hard work, adventure, and joy!
Embrace it!
Lisa
