My New Digs

I’m very happy to report that I’m no longer homeless. I recently moved into a new condo in Cowtown. Join me for a tour of my new digs.

And a big thank you to my parents and my Winnipeg friend Britta for helping me move!

Welcome! The view from the front door. The door in the photo goes out onto the balcony.
The living room. It's a corner unit so it has lots of cool angles, which I love.
The kitchen. I love the large breakfast bar - lots of counter and cupboard space and a double sink. I may buy a couple stools for the bar.
The dining room. I love the cool light. And my new table and chairs from Ikea. The table expands for guests. Thanks to my dad for assembling.
My tiny laundry room.
The guest room/office. I welcome guests!
The main bathroom with an extra deep tub and low flush toilet.
The ensuite with a huge shower.
The master bedroom with my new bed and bedding. I love the red colour of the bedding! Thanks to my parents for buying me another bed!

You may have also noticed that I’ve even hung several pictures already. Needless to say, I had to send at least half of my wall decor home with my parents as I have downsized with this recent move. But that’s alright. I made sure to keep and hang the four large black and white photos I captured back home of two grain elevators, an old one-room schoolhouse and old church. The photos remind me of home – of my rural roots. And as I like to say, no matter where you move or where you end up in life, don’t ever forget where you came from.

So what do you think of the place? Any decorating ideas? Please share your comments below.

  2. Love your new place Teresa!!! Awesome tour. The kitchen is my absolute fav. And let’s talk about that bedding of yours for a moment. Plaid is so in…needless to say, I like 😉 I’m hoping to plan a trip to Calgary in the next few months. So we’ll see you soon! xo

  3. Looks great Teresa! Hopefully, your balcony will allow you to grow something yummy this summer (tomatoes do well in pots!) and like basil plants as friends.

  4. It’s beautiful, Teres! Congratulations! I LOVE decorating – wish I was closer to go to Ikea with you :-).

  5. I love that you decorated with pictures from “home”. I’m guessing Star Mound is the old school, but where is the old church? Just wondering, as I want to take pictures of old buildings again this summer!

    1. Thanks Denise! The old church is at Purves. Some people call it the old hall. But it was a church years ago. It’s really run down now.

  6. So nice! Congrats on your new place! Now we have another reason to come back out to Calgary for a visit. All the best to you!

  7. Hey Teresa the place looks great! I am so exited for you… and cannot wait until I get a chance to come up and visit!
